The Preservation Society for the American Revolution is a national advocacy nonprofit dedicated to the permanent preservation of historically significant battlefields of the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. PSAR supports efforts to educate the public of the epic battles and the role they played in the development and early history of the United States.
Specific Objectives and Purposes
- Assist states, counties and localities in the permanent preservation of Revolutionary War and War of 1812 battlefields
- Assist in the identification and documentation of Revolutionary War and War of 1812 battlefields
- Provide preservation advocacy and consensus building assistance on a national level
- Work with states, localities and individual property owners of sites in finding sources for funding of projects
- Encourage the formation of Revolutionary War and/or War of 1812 Roundtables
- Promote and support heritage tourism
- Identify scholarships and grants for students committed to American History
